The Waters of Life

After you awaken, pour yourself a tall glass of cold, fresh water. Look at the cool water, and take a minute to appreciate that all life relies on it, and that all life thrives and grows with it. As you drink the water, appreciate its life-giving qualities, and imagine it refreshing your body and awakening your mind.  (Although this is an exercise that will occasionally appear, you are encouraged to form a habit of doing this on a daily basis.)

Media Fast

Television, newspapers and other media serve at times to inform us of our world, but it is no secret our modern media is filled with negativity and messages of fear. For the next three days you will embark on a media fast. No TV, no newspapers, no internet news, no media whatsoever. Spend the time you usually indulge in the media by reading something uplifting and positive, or engaging in proactive and positive activities. This will literally change your perception of the world.

Letter of Gratitude

Today you will express gratitude. Think of one person who has helped you or encouraged you in the past. Today, you will contact that person either over the phone, through email, a letter, or in person and express your appreciation and gratitude for what he or she has done for you. And don't worry, it's okay to be nervous about expressing gratitude to someone in an unexpected way. Follow through and you will uplift two lives - yours and their's.

It's Always A Positive Day

What kind of day did you have today? It could have been wonderful or challenging at times. Take time out now to write down five positive things that either happened to you or that you did. Reflect on how it felt during those moments and feel the warmth and power of that positivity.

The Changing of the Guard

Our beliefs are the guards and gatekeepers to our future reality. Write down five limiting beliefs you hold. Take time and be honest with yourself. After you have written five, cross each one off and as you do this, next to the limiting belief, write a new belief that is empowering and true to your infinite and unlimited nature. After you have crossed out all five old beliefs, reread your new beliefs slowly and imagine yourself imbued with those beliefs. By doing this, these new beliefs have already begun to manifest in your life! Keep those news beliefs close to you.

Spring Cleaning

When spring arrives, the entire world starts anew. Many people use this natural time of rebirth to clean out their living spaces and even their lives for a fresh start. Well, it may not be Spring now, but you are going to take the time to eliminate the clutter that you may have accumulated over the years. Go through your closets and be honest with yourself: have I worn this recently? Will I ever wear this? Be honest. Anything you don’t absolutely need you will donate to charity or simply give away without expectation of return. And if you are not sure about an article of clothing or are sitting on the fence, get rid of it! Remember, the world is full of abundance, and just as you are providing someone else with valuable clothing, the favor will be returned to you. It is the law of abundance! So start fresh and experience directly the abundance of out world!

Practice Makes Perfect

Sometimes we forget the old axiom "practice makes perfect". It is a rule to never forget. Think back on your life when practice indeed did play out to success. Write down five examples of when you accomplished something with the help of practice and repetition. Most people are afraid of failure, but failure is just practice on the way to success. You don’t come out of the womb walking and talking, do you? Of course not, and you spent a great deal of time practicing until you had mastered walking and talking (hopefully!). After you have written five ways practice helped you, consider the future and write down five ways practice will help you to achieve five of your future goals. Remember, practice is the path to success, so get out there and start practicing! Examples: driving, guitar, starting a business, dating.

Recommit Yourself

Do you know why many people fail at bettering their lives? The fact is, most people live in a duality. They want one thing, but think and act in another way. Some people are even disingenuous with themselves. The only way you will become the person you want to be is with an honest, open heart. If your commitment has been waning, now is your chance to recommit and reconnect with your vision. Grab a pen and paper and think about why you have lost your commitment and write down anything that comes to mind. You will see that these reasons, or really excuses, come from the limiting part of your mind. And now write down the reasons why you should recommit and stay true to your vision. See the difference? Maybe you forgot how it felt to focus on the positive, proactive thoughts, but it feels good right? If you are ready to recommit, just say so: YES!

A Universe of Abundance

To many people, a tree is a just a tree. But have you ever taken the time to really look at one and consider it? Everything in our reality is full of detail and beauty that on a daily basis we ignore. Right now, look around you. Focus on something, anything, and really look at it. Consider all the ways in which this object is a blessing to the world and humanity as you move right down to its minute details. Following your thoughts and feelings one right after the other, you will find that each detail has even more detail and so on into infinity. Consider this. You live in an infinite universe, and anywhere you are, magnificence and wonder always surrounds you.

How Can I?

On a sheet of paper draw a large “T” on it. Above the horizontal edge of the “T” write out a goal of yours that is at the forefront of your mind. Then, below that, above the left column, write “Why I can’t do it” and likewise above the right column write “How I can do it”. Now, place a HUGE “X” in the left column. Then, think of all the ways you can reach your goal and begin to write them down in the right column. Every time a “why I can’t do it” thought pops in your head, interrupt the thought and shout “NEXT!”. Then move passed it and continue discovering ways in which you can reach the goal that is true to your heart. Practiced often, this exercise will shift your habitual “can’t do” attitude, to a new, wonderful habit of “can do!” This will help you immensely in focusing on your natural ability to achieve anything you want!

Just Do It

Okay, it's time to set a mini-goal. Many people avoid what they fear, but the truth is we only grow by confronting our fears and realizing what fear really is: an illusion. Think about something that makes you uncomfortable or, if you are feeling ambitious, scares the living daylights out of you. Then, make a strong commitment to just do it. It could be going up and asking someone to join you for dinner, telling your boss how you really feel, asking for that raise, or maybe even jumping out of an airplane (bring a parachute!). Pay close attention to how you feel after you looked that fear dead in the eye, told it who's boss, and stepped right over it! Chances are, you will feel alive and full of confident energy. And, who knows, you may even want to do it again!

Dream Gallery

Today, find at least two pictures of what you want to be, do, or have in life. Spend five minutes visualizing yourself with the objects of your desire. Then, take the pictures and put them somewhere that you will see very often. This place could be in your car, your workplace, above your bed, next to your bathroom mirror, etc. Pretty soon, after you have collected enough pictures, and they are literally surrounding your life, you will have a personal dream gallery of all the things that you want and will come into your life!

The Playwright

The playwright creates from a blank page a story and world that comes magically alive. You are the playwright of your life. Break down your day into several scenes today.  As you move into each new scene, visualize exactly how you want it to go.  Don’t just walk through these visualizations, but really feel how you want each part of your day to go. Start with your morning routine, then, if you have a cup of coffee, imagine the smell of it brewing, then how your favorite cup gets delightfully warm as you pour the coffee in. And then as you are drinking it, feel how comforting and warming it is to the soul. Next may be the ride to work, then greeting people at the office, and so on. Do this for your entire day and maintain a positive vision and attitude and see where it leads! Just remember: positive expectation is the key!

Compliment Who?!

Have you ever been randomly complimented by a stranger or co-worker? Remember how that felt? Now, as you go through your day, you are going to pick two people. Two people that you may or may not ever come in contact with again. Look closely at them and consider all the positive physical aspects they possess. It may be their sparkling eyes, or a stylish pair of shoes they are wearing. Pick something and then compliment him or her on it. You may say quietly to yourself beforehand, “Just do it!” and then follow through and go for it! And after the compliment is paid, who knows, you could have just made a new friend! If not, you still have put positive energy out there which will without question come back to you in one way or another. And most importantly, you may have just turned someone’s challenging day into a good one!

The Reasons Why

At the start of this program, you listed six goals that you committed to pursue over the following 90 days. Some may be smaller, more personal goals, and others larger and more ambitious. Take time out now to write all of them down on a sheet of paper and leave space under each one. In the spaces, write at least three meaningful or emotional reasons why you are pursuing your goals. Has it been awhile since you’ve reflected on the “why” of your goals? It’s important to remain connected emotionally to your goals. It’s in the “why’s” that we find the drive and desire to persist when the going gets tough and challenges line up in front of us. Use this exercise to get clear on why you are working on improving your life, and you’ll be even more inspired and also better prepared to traverse the unfolding path to your ideal future.

The Good Life

Find a quiet, relaxing place and make yourself comfortable there.  Take out your pen and pad and begin to think about who the ideal you is. What habits do you want to possess?  Where do you ultimately want to go with your life? What is your purpose? List every aspect of the good life you are seeking. Let the ideas flow. By the end, if you were detailed, you may even have a mini story. Now you may have somewhat of an idea of what you should be shooting for and the direction your road map (shorter term goals) should be taking you. Put this list somewhere that ensures you‘ll see it everyday. Maybe next to the pictures of what you want or at work. Just make sure you see it frequently so you are reminded why you have embarked on the path to a better life and a better you.

And note: If you‘ve seen this exercise before, then this is a good opportunity to go over your list and see how it resonates with you today. Is the future you were mapped out before still the same? If you want to change some things, go for it! Change can be a very good thing, especially when you are refining and sharpening your vision of the future. And, you may find that you were aiming too low before and that your vision has extended and widened.

The Optimist

Let’s take a look at some of the adversities that you have encountered in the past week.  They could have been small or big.  Now focus on five and write them down. There must have been some good which came out of them. The law of opposites states you cannot have a negative without a positive, an up without a down, an in without an out, and so on.  So this must mean that in all of these adverse situations something had to be right.  Start writing down the good aspects of these adversities and don’t stop until you are sure you have listed them all. Your mind will begin to shift and you will soon see that even in the worst, there is still some good and in seemingly hopeless situations, you will find opportunities.

I Promise!

Are you the type of person who prides yourself on keeping promises to others?  What about the promises you have made to yourself?  It’s funny how many of us are quick to keep the promises made to another, but equally as quick to break the promises we make to ourselves.  Let’s start now and break that habit!  Promise yourself one thing today and keep that promise. Think small, think big, but the point is to make a promise you normally wouldn’t have considered. At the end of the day make sure to reflect on the promise and, if kept, take pride in your commitment to yourself! Make this a habit and you will change your life.

The World’s Greatest

Take ten minutes out of your day to think about the unique qualities that lie within you.  On a piece of paper, describe what you bring to the table of life. Write as many examples as you can think of. Then, really think about these wonderful qualities you possess that, once fully developed, will have the ability to move mountains and change your world.  Then consider: you spent time identifying all of the positive qualities you possess ad probably came up with many, but you still have barely scratched the surface of the infinite and dynamic you! Each time you do this exercise, you will discover new things that you contribute to this world.

No Time Like the Present

Today, you are going to do that one thing you keep putting off. As soon as you read that sentence something may have immediately popped into your head. If not, take a few moments to think about what you’ve been putting off. It can be anything, small or big. Maybe you’ve put off changing auto insurance or painting that ugly banister. Whatever it is, today you are going to do it. No more procrastination. No more delays. Get it out of the way! Bonus points if whatever you choose is a step towards one of your six fixed goals!

Life’s Endless Possibilities

When we were children, we daydreamed all the time. The older we got, the less time we had to imagine and envision aspects of life that weren’t directly in front of us. Today, its time to let your imagination run wild. Create a list with a minimum of twenty things you want to do, see or experience in your life. Dream big, dream small, it’s up to you. If there were no limitations placed on yourself and your life, what would you do? Start with twenty and by all means, keep going. This is a good way to begin to develop a clear perception of the infinite potential of the world around you. And, years from now, it’ll be fun to go back and see that you indeed did do many of the things that you could once only have imagined.
